Features and Benefits of the Peripheral Cotton Stalk Cutter:
Low Profile – The cutter unit keeps a low profile. The unit bolts on the back of the cotton picker and does not extend past the rear of the air tubes. It requires minimal horsepower, leaving plenty of power for picking operation.
Bolt-on Unit – Cutters are designed for both Case IH and John Deere Picking Drums.
Cotton Grade – Cutters discharge out the rear of the drum. Stalks are short enough that they do not damage the bottom side of the machine so shields are not needed. Tests have proven that the cotton stalk cutters do not affect the cotton grade at the gin. Stalks being cut qualify for the No-Till programs.
Stalk Height – Stalk height is controlled by positioning of the cutter attached to the back of the picking drum. Stalks should be left high enough to prevent tire damage in future field operations.
Easy Removal – In the event that scraping is desired, the cutters may be quickly taken off by removing just a few bolts.
Efficient – You can save money by eliminating a trip across the field by cutting down on fuel cost, labor, and wear on a tractor.
